Spoiler warning: This guide contains information from the FFXIV Dawntrail Patch 7.0 Main Scenario!!!

FFXIV Dawntrail Guide: Worqor Zormor

Worqor Zormor is a Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail Main Scenario Quest dungeon. It’s available at level 93 as part of the quest The High Luminary. It can be completed via the duty finder.

Never be afraid to take a dungeon at your own pace, but for the purposes of this guide, we’re going to be speaking in terms of multiple group pulls. However! Please remember that this is the beginning of a new expansion and mobs are bound to be a little more powerful than we’ve grown used to.

Encounters 1 & 2

2 Worqor Snowarbler, 2 Lightning Sprite & 1 Worqor Biast

  • Thunder – A single target spell cast on the player with highest hate by the Lightning Sprite.
  • Levinshower – A wide, conal AoE cast on the player with highest hate by the Biast.

Encounters 3 & 4

2 Ice Sprite, 2 Worqor Myrrlith, 2 Fire Sprite & 1 Worqor Anala

  • Blizzard – A single target spell cast on the player with highest hate by the Ice Sprite.
  • Fire – A single target spell cast on the player with highest hate by the Fire Sprite.
  • Orogenic Storm – A circular AoE centered on the player with highest hate by the Myrrlith.
  • Ring of Fire – A circular AoE centered a random player by the Anala.

Ryoqor Terteh

Who let this Poke’mon in here? …It’s so cute!

  • Frosting Fracas – Raid-wide AoE damage.
  • Fluffle Up (v1) – The adorable boss summons up four little friends, each marked with an arrow indicator. Two of them, diagonal from each other, will start casting Ice Scream, each of the two casts covering a quarter of the arena. Shortly after, the other two will cover the remaining two quadrants. But wait! This is not your normal move from one unsafe space into the other mechanic!
  • Cold Feat – The boss tethers to two of its li’l friends, eventually freezing them in blocks of ice and pausing their AoE casts. These frozen ones will be the first AoEs you’ll want to stand in before moving into the safe spaces left by the li’l guys that started casting second. It’s just backward from the normal proceedure for this style mechanic.
  • Fluffle Up (v2) – Ryoqor Terteh summons up another set of four, slightly bigger, fluffy guys who will start casting Frozen Swirl, large circular AoEs. Each set of two will be side-by-side.
  • Cold Feat – Again, 2 fluff adds will be frozen. Stand in their danger zones first, then move to the second set of cast circles after they explode.
  • Snowscoop – Several snowballs will appear around the edge of the arena in two sets, one quickly after the other. Each set will project a linear AoE across the diameter of the floor, at first leaving small triangles of safety near the edges of the arena, then completely covering the ground. This is an instance of standing in the AoE indicator of the second cast and moving into the first AoE space after the ability explodes. No tricky frozen mechanics here.
  • Sparkling Sprinkling – While Snowscoop is in effect, the boss will target each player with a traveling AoE circle. Make sure you’re spread out a bit while dodging the previous mechanic.
  • Fluffle Up (v3)* – All 8 fluffy friends come to play, the small ones still casting their quadrant AoEs, and the big ones still casting circles. Make note of which quadrant is left safe to stand in before the second set of casts begins.
  • Cold Feat – Two big fluffs and two small fluffs will be frozen by the ice tethers this time. Look for the quadrant that has both the small and big fluff in it affected by ice and stand in it for your first safe spot. Once the unaffected AoEs go off, move into that original safe space quadrant you noted before.
  • Frosting Fracas
  • Snowscoop
  • Sparkling Sprinkling
  • Frosting Fracas
  • Frosting Fracas
  • *Repeats from Fluffle Up (v3) until defeat.

Encounters 5 & 6

2 Worqor Longjaw, 1 Worqor Sloth & 2 Worqor Bloodsuckers

  • Snowdust Sweep – A wide conal AoE cast on the player with highest hate by the Sloth.
  • Sweeping Gouge – A wide, conal AoE cast on the player with highest hate by the Sloth.

Encounters 7 & 8

2 Worqor Longjaw, 1 Worqor Zu & 2 Worqor Sloth

Kahderyor

This guy should be a little bit familiar. Revenge time?

  • Wind Unbound – Raid-wide AoE damage.
  • Crystalline Crush – A tower AoE will appear. All players should stand inside to soak the AoE, though even if no one stands in it, it doesn’t do enough damage to kill anyone. The damage will, of course, apply a vulnerability stack. A circle of crushed crystal will be left on the arena floor.
    • During the course of this fight, you’ll see this type of crystal in circles or lines on the floor, and they’ll react in one of two ways. If Wind energy comes into play, the crystals will be safe areas to stand on. If Earth comes into play, the crystals will generate AoE zones.
  • Wind Shot or Earthen Shot (v1)
    • Wind Shot – The floor will be covered with wind energy, except for that circle of left over crystals from Crystalline Crush. At the same time, all players will be marked with donut AoEs. Stack up in the safety zone.
    • Earthen Shot – A large, circular AoE will appear where the Crystalline Crush crystals are scattered, and each player will have a circular AoE assigned to them as well. Spread out, avoiding the large circle.
  • Wind Shot or Earthen Shot (v1) – This will be whichever element wasn’t used previously.
  • Crystalline Storm* – Three, thin linear AoEs will span the floor semi-randomly, leaving lines of crushed crystal behind.
  • Wind Shot or Earthen Shot (v2)
    • Wind Shot – Each player will be marked with a donut AoE. Stack (or spread out) along the lines of safety left by the crystals.
    • Earthen Shot – Each player will have a point blank circle AoE on them. Spread amongst the safe areas left over by the wide linear AoEs that the crystals generate.
  • Wind Shot or Earthen Shot (v2) – This will be whichever element wasn’t used previously.
  • Wind Unbound
  • Seed Crystals – Each player will be trapped in Crystalline Debris. Break yourselves (and your friends!) out by damaging the Debris.
  • Sharpened Sights – A ring of purple-red energy with four eyeball indicators on it will form at the edge of the arena and start shrinking toward the center. Before it hits the center, look away, or be confused, causing you to beat up your buddies.
  • Stalagmite Circle or Cyclonic Ring
    • Stalagmite Circle – A large, circular AoE will form at the center of the arena. Avoid!
    • Cyclonic Ring – A donut AoE will form, centered on the floor.
  • A second Sharpened Sights circle will travel inward.
  • Stalagmite Circle or Cyclonic Ring – Remember to look outward, away from the second Sharpened Sights ring.
  • Wind Unbound
  • Wind Unbound
  • *Repeats from Crystalline Storm until defeat.

Encounters 9 & 10

2 Worqor Cloudtrap, 1 Worqor Tulichu & 2 Worqor Iquana

  • Languid Lap – A wide conal AoE cast on the player with highest hate by the Iguana.
  • Deeproot – A circular AoE cast on the player with highest hate by the Tulichu.
  • Odious Lunge – A large, circular AoE cast on a random player by the Tulichu.

Encounters 11 & 12

2 Worqor Pitcher Weed, 1 Worqor Cloudtrap & 2 Worqor Tulichu

  • Nepenthic Plunge – A wide conal AoE cast on the player with highest hate by the Pitcher Weed.

Gurfurlur

Maybe one day your beard will be as majestic as Ramuh’s, Gurfurlur. Good start, though!

  • Heaving Haymaker – Raid-wide AoE damage.
  • Stonework – Gurfurlur will toss one of two stone tiles on the ground at either center right or center left. Standing on the tile does not hurt you.
    • Volcano (Erupting Peaks) – All floor tiles touching the Volcano tile will light up to explode, then the tiles touching those first four, then the last line of tiles touching the second set. These will explode in a series, so move from a dangerous set into a safe set after the first set of AoEs resolve. This is one-for-one an Eden Titan mechanic. While this is going on, each player will be marked with a point-blank AoE that will travel with them.
    • Tsunami (Roiling Waters) – This will appear on one side of the arena and push you three blocks over from your starting point. You can also just use your knock-back nullifier on it, but you might want to save it for when the mechanics are slightly more complicated later.
  • Stonework – Volcano or Tsunami, whichever wasn’t previously used.
  • Sledgehammer – The boss will punch your healer via a linear AoE three times in a row; noticed the stacked arrows on the sides of the indicator. Stand in the line to help soak the damage.
  • Arcane Stomp – Gurfurlur calls up balls of energy to buff him. Steal them out of his giant, greedy fingers. These do no damage as you intercept them, so go crazy.
  • Enduring Glory – This does raid-wide damage based on how many stacks of the buff he was allowed to get.
  • Stonework* – Tornado (Merciless Storms). This wind version of the stone tile will do a knock-back from the center of the arena, then create four tornados that will move laterally across the floor. As these tornados are moving along their paths, the tile will generate another knock-back from the center. Aim to be knocked back between two tornados that have already past the area you’re getting pushed to, or along the emptied path of one of the center tornado rows.
  • Stonework – Volcano and Tsunami. Either tile could appear on either side. Go to the side of the arena where the Tsunami originates to get pushed into the safe area left behind by the Volcano AoEs exploding. Remember that will be the two center-most rows. If you still have your knock-back nullifier, you can use it and only deal with the Volcano mechanic. All players will also have point-blank circles traveling with them, so spread.
  • Heaving Haymaker
  • Sledgehammer
  • Heaving Haymaker
  • *Repeats from Stonework – Tornado until defeat.

Congratulations, you’ve completed Worqor Zormor!

Special thanks to Castus, Sven, Monte, Elili, and Jome for running this dungeon with me for footage!
