Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.5 Unlock Guide
Patch 6.5: Growing Light has finally arrived, bringing plenty of new content to keep Warriors of Light busy. Need a quick reference for how and where to unlock everything? Here’s a rundown to help you hit the ground running.
New Main Scenario Quests
Myths of the Realm Alliance Raid: Thaleia
“The Heart of the Myth” unlocks with our good friend Deryk in Mor Dhona (X:23.9 Y:9.1). If you don’t see the quest marker, or if Deryk has nothing to tell you, make sure you go back and finish up the post-Euphrosyne quests. The prerequisite quest is called “The Secret of the Twelve.”
The Abyssal Fracture: Extreme
As usual, you can unlock the new extreme trial with the Wandering Minstrel in Sharlayan (X:12.7, Y:14.2). While usually all you need to have completed is the quest containing the story mode version of the trial, he may not have a new unlock available until after you’ve completely finished the 6.5 MSQ.
New Custom Deliveries: Margrat
Theopauldin in Old Sharlayan (X:13.8 Y:15.0) will have a new quest titled “A Request of One’s Own” available to Disciples of the Hand & Land. This will unlock a new custom delivery NPC, Margrat, and an additional quest upon reaching satisfaction rank 5.
New Unreal Trial: The Singularity Reactor
Are you ready to face Thordan and his knights once again? As long as you have Faux Hollows unlocked, you’ll automatically have access to the new Unreal trial via the Raid Finder. If not, you can get started by speaking to the Painfully Ishgardian Man in Idyllshire (X: 7.0, Y: 5.9) and completing the “Fantastic Mr. Faux.”
Island Sanctuary & PvP Series Rewards
While they don’t require quests to begin, it’s worth noting some of the other new content available in patch 6.5. New Island Sanctuary ranks, gatherable items, handicrafts and features are available on your private island, including a special quest called “The Sweetest Thing” once you reach a certain milestone in your island development.
PvP Series 5 begins in 6.5 and will run until the release of Dawntrail next summer. This gives you plenty of time to reap the rewards, which often include emotes, framing kits and mounts. Remember that the daily Frontline challenge awards a handsome sum of series exp – you don’t have to farm hard to benefit!
Is Your Gear Ready for New Content?
If you’ve been away from the game for a while, or just focused on things other than increasing your gear’s ilvl, you might find yourself below minimum requirements for new content. Luckily, you’ll be able upgrade your crafted Diadochos gear for augmented ilvl 650 versions in Radz-at-Han with Rashti. This should help give you the boost you need to jump into the fray!
