Former CD Projekt Red Developers Officially Announce New Studio & Tease Future Project
A team of experienced individuals from the gaming industry, who have worked on renowned titles like The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077, have officially announced their ambitious plans for a brand-new game studio called Blank.
Utilizing their extensive expertise, this newly formed group is dedicated to exploring uncharted territory rather than resorting to predictable titles or clones. In addition to introducing the studio, the co-founders of Blank. also shared some concept art from their new project: an apocalyptic, character-driven game full of twists.
Blank. Co-founder and Game Director Matseusz Kanik (formerly of CD Projekt Red) said they’re thrilled to get started on expanding their team. “After working for years in an increasingly conservative industry, we’re ready to make bold, impactful projects that share our unique creativity and values,” said Kanik. “Where the industry champions a dictatorship of the creative individual, we want to give ownership to the team. Where the industry leans on crunch culture, we prefer work-life balance. Where the industry says bigger is better, we’re setting our sights on highly polished games with a focus on emotion, story, and craftsmanship.”
Joining Kanik at Blank. are co-founders Jędrzej Mróz (CD Projekt Red), Marcin Jefimow (CD Projekt Red, 11 Bit Studios) and Mikołaj Marchewka (Rookiez from Warsaw S.A). The founders have brought together some amazing developers for their team, including Michal Dobrowolski (CD Projekt Red) as Design Director, Artur Ganszyniec (CD Projekt Red, 11 Bit Studios) as Narrative Director, with Grzegorz Przybyś (Division 48 Studio, Artificer) as Art Director.
Blank. is headquartered in Warsaw, Poland, and currently boasts a small team of only ten team members. However, they are actively looking to expand their ranks to support development of their unannounced project.
