Square Enix Announces FFXIV Art & Cosplay Contests for Las Vegas FanFest

21 Apr 2023

Square Enix announced in separate Lodestone blogposts today that they would be holding several contests in tandem with the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV Fan Fest in Las Vegas later this year.

Art Contest

The first of the three contests consists of several categories that players will be judged upon, making sure that artists of different styles and skills can participate. The categories are as follows:

  • Illustrated Works
  • Screenshot (Unaltered)
  • Screenshot (Altered)
  • Physical Handcrafted Works

Submissions are open right now until Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. (PDT)! Make sure to carefully read the rules and information on the contest here.

Video Contest

In addition to the art and crafts, Square Enix is also accepting art entries from video creators with a very specific topic:

Create a short video, using in-game footage that showcases your favorite FFXIV class or job that is designed to get viewers excited to play as that class or job.

As part of the rules, entries must be between 15-30 seconds long, in 1080p or higher resolution and must be uploaded on YouTube as an unlisted video. Click here for the full list of the rules and further information on how to participate. As with the Art Contest, submissions are open until Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. (PDT).

Cosplay Contest “Glamoured to Life”

Contrary to the other two contests, this one will be held and judged live in Las Vegas at the North American FanFest. As such, each contestent MUST be a ticket holder for the Fan Festival. The entry period for submissions is also different and will last until Friday, June 30, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. (PDT).

Due to security reasons, the exact guidelines for the contest may change between now and the event, so contestants are advised to check the Lodestone and the special site for the contest regularly to ensure their qualification. All the information – including a link to the current costume guidelines – can be found here.

We wish all contestants the best of luck with their entries!
