FFXIV 6.1 Preliminary Patch Notes + Special Site Update

8 Apr 2022

Ahead of the weekend we got our first look at the preliminary patch notes for Endwalker‘s 6.1 update Newfound Adventure. As always, the full patch notes will go live with the start of the 24 hour maintenance on Monday, April 11th 3am PDT.

The patch notes come with new main scenario quests, a new dungeon and the Myths of the Realm alliance raid, as well as the huge PvP changes which were discussed during recent Letters from the Producer LIVE. Thanks to the preliminary patch notes, we also now know the location and prerequisites for the new activities where needed. Additionally, there’s also a whole list of new things that we haven’t been told about yet including some quality of life things.

We also got more information on the changes being made to various dungeons, the new MSQ roulette and other miscellaneous updates.

We compiled a short list of highlights of some of these changes below. If you want to read the entire preliminary patch notes, you can do so here.

Rearrangement of Instance-based Actions

You can now rearrange actions you gain access to in solo duties where you take over other characters. Once you regain control over your own character, these changes will be reverted automatically.

Collectability Tiers shown while crafting

In Patch 6.1 you will be able to see the different reward tiers while crafting collectable items. Unfortunately, the notes make no mention of a similar feature for gathering.

Organized Sightseeing Log

With the upcoming patch, the Sightseeing Log gets a much needed overhaul, now quickly showing the player’s progress on their vistas in each expansion.

Keep in mind that these are only the preliminary patch notes and the final version will be released on Monday. As a reminder: the start of the maintenance will also mean the end of the current Moogle Treasure Trove event! So if you’re looking to farm more tomes, you only have this weekend.

You can also find some more new screenshots for the upcoming patch 6.1 Newfound Adventure on the special site which also saw another update recently.
