Today saw THQ Nordic’s first digital presentation in celebration of the company’s 10th anniversary. As you’d expect from a showcase ringing in a decade of publishing games, it was suitably filled with reveals of projects currently in development and new looks at a couple of previously announced titles.

From the next SpongeBob SquarePants game to a brand new sequel to Outcast from 1999, here’s everything THQ Nordic showed off:

Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed

This remake of 2006’s Destroy All Humans! 2 is being helmed by Black Forest Games, the same developer that handled the first game’s remake. Set in the 1960s, Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed will follow the alien Crypto through the United States, the Soviet Union, Japan, and the Moon in order to do exactly what’s on the tin. There’s also a gameplay trailer available, and the game is set to release “soon” on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X.

SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake

The Cosmic Shake will see SpongeBob and Patrick traveling through mysterious portals to rescue their friends. This new game is being developed by Purple Lamp Studios (who handled the 2020 remake SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom – Rehydrated) and will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Outcast 2 – A New Beginning

Outcast 2 – A New Beginning is an open-world third-person shooter set to feature a non-linear story and dynamic plot progression based on player choices. As a sequel to 1999’s Outcast, it’s set twenty years after the end of the original game and is being made at Appeal Studios in Belgium with a team featuring many developers that worked on the original. There’s a very pretty in-game trailer available to watch as well, and Outcast 2 – A New Beginning is going to be landing on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series S/X “soon.”

Jagged Alliance 3

In keeping with the theme of long-awaited sequels, THQ Nordic is also set to release Jagged Alliance 3, a tactical strategy game with an emphasis on exploration and large-scale management of territories in addition to selecting and maintaining your squad. The game is developed by Haemimont Games (the studio behind the Tropico series since Tropico 3 and 2018’s Surviving Mars) and will be releasing on PC. It will also feature a co-op multiplayer mode to let you team up with a friend.

SuperPower 3

SuperPower 3 is a grand strategy game on a global scale and a sequel to 2004’s SuperPower 2. It’s currently in the works at GolemLabs, the developers of the previous games in the series, and will task players with selecting a nation and managing everything from managing its military strategy and politics to overseeing its social development. It promises to be “the most complete and accurate geopolitical simulation game to date” and is set to release for PC.

MX vs. ATV Legends

The next entry in the fusion of the MX and ATV Offroad Fury franchises is set to release “soon” on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S/X, and Xbox One from long-time series developers Rainbow Studios. It promises a fully-featured Career Mode and a Trails mode, as well as both split screen and online multiplayer.

In addition to these new games, THQ Nordic also revealed new trailers for the previously announced ELEX II and Expeditions: Rome.

ELEX II – Story Trailer

As a sequel to its 2017 predecessor and the next game from veteran RPG studio Piranha Bytes (creators of the Gothic & Risen series), ELEX II is set to sport a science fiction open world with NPCs and factions that react accordingly based on your decision making. The new trailer focuses on returning protagonist Jax and offers some clues as to what’s happened in the interim between the two games. ELEX II will be released “soon” for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.

Expeditions: Rome – Gameplay Trailer

Announced in April and set to release later this year on PC, Expeditions: Rome is a turn-based strategy RPG being developed by Logic Artists, the same studio that created Expeditions: Viking and Expeditions: Conquistador before it. In the above video, members of the team give a general overview of the title’s features and some of the development goals they’re striving for while making it.

As a reminder, THQ Nordic is also currently running sales for many of its games on Steam through September 23rd, including giving away Titan Quest Anniversary Edition and Jagged Alliance 1: Gold Edition for free, with Desperados III being free to play until September 20th.
