It’s been announced today via the PlayStation Blog that the upcoming Marvel’s Avengers from Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics will indeed be receiving everyone’s favorite web-slinger, Spider-Man.
Last week during July’s War Table stream, we got a quick glimpse at how characters will traverse the various mission maps. Fans were quick to note that Black Widow could grapple and swing quickly through the environment in order to keep pace with the likes of Iron Man and Hulk- further adding fuel to the speculation that the game could see the addition of everyone’s favorite wall crawler.
Spider-Man will be added to the Avengers roster in early 2021 and will be available for no additional cost. The announcement also states that Spider-Man will be exclusive to PlayStation.
We’ve reached out to Square Enix to see whether or not the wall-crawler’s exclusivity will be timed or not and we’ll update here if we hear anything.
Marvel’s Avengers will release on September 4 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC (Steam) and Stadia. The beta test begins later this week on August 7 for PlayStation 4.
Update: Square Enix has responded and told us that the information in the PlayStation Blog post is all they’re sharing at the moment.
