Square Enix Celebrates Final Fantasy IX's 20th Anniversary with New Merchandise and Interviews
In commemoration of one of the most beloved games in the Final Fantasy series, Square Enix is running a special feature on the Final Fantasy Portal Site for Final Fantasy IX.
Final Fantasy IX, which now celebrates its 20th anniversary, was originally released in Japan on July 7th, 2000 on the PlayStation, with a remaster currently available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PC (Steam), iOS, and Android.
First, a selection of merchandise including new Bring Arts Kai figures, jewelry, and a second wave of the $840 Battle of Destiny statue were released on the official Square Enix Store; a list of the goods is available here.
Next, a playlist featuring a collection of music from the game has been released on streaming platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, which can be found here.
Finally, Square Enix is running a three-part interview series with creators Kazuhiko Aoki, Toshiyuki Itahanam and Hiroyuki Ito. The first interview is out now and features Aoki-san who handled event design and scenarios for the game.
