Electronic Arts Announces Star Wars: Squadrons, Releasing October 2nd
EA Motive unveiled its new Star Wars project today, which is a first-person dogfighter that puts you in the cockpit of some of the franchise’s most iconic starfighters.
Star Wars: Squadrons takes place after the events of Return of the Jedi and will feature a single-player campaign with an original story in addition to 5v5 multiplayer with multiple modes.
EA also states that Squadrons will not contain any microtransactions, and that all cosmetic content and upgrades will unlock as players rank up.
Star Wars: Squadrons will release on October 2nd for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Origin, Steam, and Epic Games Store. All versions of the game will support cross-play, and the PS4 and PC versions will feature VR support.
A full gameplay reveal is planned for EA Play, which will stream on June 18th at 4 PM (PST). Until then, you can check out the reveal trailer below!
