FFXIV Shadowbringers Guide: Eden’s Verse: Fulmination

Eden’s Verse: Fulmination is the first encounter of the second 8-man, normal raid content released with Patch 5.2 of Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers. It’s available at level 80 by finishing the Main Scenario Quest Shadowbringers and unlocked by the quest Blood and Thunder. It can be completed via the duty finder with a minimum ilvl of 455 and rewards tokens of Golden Antiquity for each gear type, which can be turned in to Yahl Yal at (10.1-11.5) in The Canopy, Eulmore. Ghul Gul at (26.6-16.4) in Mord Souq, Ahm Araeng will also exchange tokens of Golden Antiquity for gear.

For the sake of your fellow players, please remember that this is new content (at the time of this publication). A little friendly explanation can go a long way. Similarly, don’t be afraid to take advice. You may learn something you didn’t know.

Ramuh

Make note of the patterns of lines on the floor. They’ve given us helpful guides for Ramuh’s few knock-backs. They’re important, though, as there are no walls and you can fall off.

  • Crippling Blow – A tank buster.
  • Stratospear Summons (1) – Two spears will drop to either side of the arena. You must stand on the side with the shorter spear. Make sure you’re standing a bit beyond the spear, though, and not right on it, as the circle AoE that triggers from the taller of the spears reaches farther than the shorter spear.
Watch your toes!
  • Judgement Jolt – When this finishes casting, a number of lightning orbs will be left on the ground that you might recognize from the original Ramuh fight. Each player will need to pick up at least one of these to apply a Surge Protection buff to themselves and dull the damage from Ramuh’s many lightning attacks.
  • Stormcloud Summons – Two players will be marked with purple markers. After a short time, a Stormcloud will form over where ever that player is standing. To give your group more room, it’s best to run to a corner to drop these. Stormclouds will periodically drop a circular AoE under them.
  • Judgement Volts – An arena-wide, unavoidable AoE that removes one stack of Surge Protection. Remember to pick up another ball.
  • Crippling Blow
  • Fury’s Bolt – Ramuh applies a buff to himself that powers up his next attack:
  • Divine Judgement Volts – A super powered version of Judgement Volts. You have to have at least one stack of Surge Protection to survive this.
  • Tribunal Summons (1) – Ramuh summons a single ghostly Will of Ixion at one long side of the arena at the center. This horse will eventually dash across the floor, causing a knock-back, so don’t stand too far from the origin point. The second, dashed line of bricks seems to be the minimum safe distance.
Watch your nose!
  • Tribunal Summons (2) – Three of the same Ixions will be summoned on one of the short sides of arena and dash long-ways across. Every other marked off lane will be safe to stand in. Getting hit by these charges applies a vulnerability debuff.
Watch your elbows!
  • Stratospear Summons (2) – This time 4 spears will drop. Head to the shortest one and make sure to tuck well into the corner. The spears to the north or south of you, depending on where you’re standing, will reach further into the corners than you might think.
  • Judgement Jolt
  • Fury’s Bolt
  • Divine Judgement Volts
  • Thunderstorm – This cast indicates a bullet hell of thunderbolts is about to start streaming from the sky. There will be a number of small circles that follow their own little paths, as well as 2 sets of 4 larger circles that target players.
  • Stormcloud Summons
  • Tribunal Summons (1) – Keep the dropped Stormclouds in mind when choosing where you’re going to be knocked back.
  • Thunderstorm* – This happens in combination with the following:
  • Tribunal Summons (2) – You’ll have to avoid both the rain of lightning and the charging horses.
  • Crippling Blow
  • Stratospear Summons (1)
  • Stormcloud Summons – These will have to be placed, and in turn avoided, on the safe side of the arena.
  • Judgement Jolt
  • Fury’s Bolt
  • Divine Judgement Volts
  • Tribunal Summons (3) – Both versions of Ixion dashes will be summoned in this third version, so find a safe lane and prepare to be knocked back.
  • Crippling Blow
  • Judgement Jolt
  • *Likely repeats from Thunderstorm.
