Today, Capcom announced two new masterminds and maps for the upcoming Resident Evil Resistance which pits a mastermind against a group of survivors. Using a deck of cards, the mastermind can set traps, summon creatures, manipulate the environment and more as the survivors work together and use their items and special abilities to escape the experiment before the time runs out.
Anyone that has been a long time fan of the Resident Evil series will recognize the name Ozwell E. Spencer. Not only was he one of Umbrella’s original founders, but the first game in the series takes place in the Spencer Mansion, sitting atop a secret Umbrella lab. In Resident Evil Resistance, Spencer now uses the company’s technology to torment survivor. His special ability is a disintegration field that will damage survivors that pass through it.
Other longtime fans of the series, or fans of Resident Evil Revelations 2 will recognize the other mastermind: Alex Wesker.
Alex’s playstyle revolves around using traps while slowing down survivors with roadblocks and enhanced zombies. She’ll be able to summon a stationary, plant bioweapon called Yateveo.
Two new maps have also been announced: the Casino, and the Abandoned Park.
Resident Evil Resistance will be included with Resident Evil 3 when it launches on April 3 this year for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam).
