Square Enix & Dark Horse To Bring Final Fantasy Ultimania Volumes West
Today as a part of their New York Comic Con announcements, Dark Horse and Square Enix have announced that they’ll be partnering up to bring three Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive volumes to the west, and more importantly, in English.
For those unfamiliar with the Ultimania books, they’re packed full of concept art, lore, notes from the designers and more. They’ve been quite common in Japan, but this will be the first time that they’ll be available in English.
If the cover of the first volume (which isn’t finalized) is any indication, these could be translated versions of the Memorial Ultimania books released as a part of Final Fantasy’s 25th Anniversary five years ago- though if that’s the case, it’s quite possible that volume 3 might now have more information on FFXIV and add a section for FFXV.
The first volume will cover Final Fantasy I through VI in its 336 pages and will retail for $39.99. You can pre-order the first volume now, which is set for release on June 5th, 2018.
