Spike Chunsoft Announce Bevy of Games for Western Release

The annual Game Developers Conference was held this past week in San Francisco. Japanese developer Spike Chunsoft was present at the conference, and on March 2nd, held their first-ever westernpress event.

The developer announced a number of titles and release dates, as well as peppering in a few surprises. Alongside release date announcements for games such as Danganronpa V3 (September 26th) and Zero Escape: The Nonary Games (March 24th), a few new projects and localizations were revealed.

Suda51 was present to help announce Fire Pro Wrestling World, the first entry in the Fire Pro Wrestling series since 2012, set for release this year for PS4 and PC via Steam. However, Suda himself is not involved in the project.

Zero Escape series writer and director Kotaro Uchikoshi was also present to reveal his new project, currently entitled Project Psync. There were no details shared outside of a teaser image.

The most notable and surprising announcement to me, though, is the localization of the title 428: Fuusa Sareta Shibuya de. Released in Japan for the Wii in 2008, this title is the only game to earn a perfect score in Famitsu yet remain exclusive to Japan, as well as the only visual novel to earn a perfect score.

A live action visual novel, the game will be localized as 428: Shibuya Scramble, and is planned for western release in early 2018 for PS4 and PC via Steam.
