Resident Evil 7 Demo Breaks Download Records

Today Capcom announced that the demo for the upcoming Resident Evil 7 is the most downloaded, single player demo on  PlayStation 4 in the first seven days for North America. The demo, titled “Beginning Hour” has only been available to PlayStation Plus members and has been downloaded over 2 million times worldwide.

Since its release during E3, players have found themselves exploring every single inch of the demo in order to find all the secrets. The biggest mystery so far has been the dummy finger item that players find in a desk drawer in the demo that, currently, seems to have no use. Players have been theorizing all over the internet on what the finger (whose end looks like it could be a key) is used for and recently Capcom released an image that might offer those devoting so much time into the demo a brief moment of rest.

Is there a timed unlock for the demo that will finally let players solve the mystery of the dummy finger? Or is Capcom planning an update to the patch? We’re not entirely sure, but we’re curious to see just what exactly does happen.
