E3 is still a week away, but it looks like some companies just can’t wait to get their newest game announced! Case in point: Square Enix, who announced a HD remaster of Final Fantasy XII earlier this morning.

Set for release for the PS4, the remaster, entitled Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age, will be based on the previously Japan-only “International” version of the game, International Zodiac Job System. This Zodiac version of FFXII included a number of changes from the original release, most notably including twelve difference License Boards assignable to each character in the game (rather than the single one everyone uses in the original), each representing a different job class.

New to the HD Zodiac Age version will be, of course, high-definition graphics, along with full 7.1 surround sound, high-definition voicing, and a remastered soundtrack (with the option to use the original soundtrack if you so desire).

The game is set for release in 2017, although no specific release date has been announced. This announcement was made alongside a new trailer for the game, which you can check out below!
