Dead Island 2 to be Playable at Gamescom 2014
Deep Silver announced today that fans attending Gamescom in Cologne, Germany will get to enjoy the zombie blood spatters of Dead Island 2 with a playable demo at Deep Silver’s booth. The new hands-on experience pits the players against the zombie hordes in sunny Los Angeles – beaches, blue skies and the iconic Hollywood sign all present.
And for those unable to attend the gaming bonanza in Germany, fear not! Deep Silver also revealed the first ever gameplay trailer for the first-person zombie smashing game. The new footage contains pre-alpha gameplay and aims to give an impression on the apocalypse-meets-sunny-California experience. Some pleasant surprises from the trailer? The in-engine sun looks epic and while its only a video, it does look quite smooth.
Dead Island 2 picks up after both Dead Island and Escape Dead Island story lines in which in the following months after the events on Banoi, the Golden State has come under full quarantine from the zombie infection. For some, this is a disaster but for others, the zombie apocalypse is just the beginning. The game is to feature an action-packed playground with seamless multiplayer for up to eight players where they can cooperate, compete, or just coexist. The game is set for release in Spring of 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
