I remember when Batman: Arkham Asylum came out; it was the first game where the catch phrase “Be The Batman” actually meant something. From punching thugs out cold to Batmaning up the Joker, it had everything I ever wanted from a Batman game – slick, smooth, awesome action with a Batarang every now and then. Then came Arkham City, which contained more of the good stuff except that it included one crucial feature missing from the first game: a city to explore. And just last year we saw the release of Batman: Arkham Origins which added the famed Gotham City. Now, we get a peak at the final game in the series: Batman: Arkham Knight.
Officially confirmed today for release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC we see the self-described “explosive finale” to the Batman Arkham series of games. Some rumors say that we’ll get to see Scarecrow as the main villain as well as other famous Batman villains, and – just like the last game – Batman: Arkham Knight is adding yet another feature missing from the previous Arkham games: The Batmobile.
You can check out the trailer below.
The game is being developed by Rocksteady, which was the studio behind Arkham Asylum and Arkham City – arguably the better of the Arkham games after Warner Bros. Montreal took over Arkham Origins. For many this will be good news and the best part is since they weren’t making Arkham Origins we can expect Arkham Knight to come to us soon. According to the trailer, its set for release this year.
