The Trouble Surrounding The Ni No Kuni Wizard's Edition
Many of those who pre-orderd the Wizard’s Edition of Ni No Kuni are still waiting on their shipments. Many have gone to Facebook and Twitter saying that they’ve been waiting for any word regarding the shipment of their order. Some received word that their pre-orders have been cancelled altogether.
A forum thread on the NAMCO Bandai website and a group on Facebook have surfaced- digging deeper into the problem. It seems that eBay store ‘Play Canada’ have accquired up to 220 copies of the Wizard’s Edition and have been selling them for $399.99 each! People are saying that when calling Digital River (the company that handled the orders for NAMCO Bandai) they have been told that people have been receiving cancellations as a result of Play Canada’s order.
A thread posted by a representative of Digital River has appeared on the forums as well, stating that the product was in fact oversold and that everyone who pre-ordered and received a cancellation will be contacted on an individual basis.
No word yet on how Digital River or NAMCO Bandai will make up for the oversold units and cancelled pre-orders. Needless to say, there are many confused gamers out there who are left wondering if they’re ever going to end up with the game they pre-ordered months ago.
UPDATE: A $20.00 coupon is being given to those who have contacted NAMCO Bandai about their cancelled order. The regular edition of Ni No Kuni is also no longer listed on their online store.
UPDATE 2: NAMCO Bandai has apologized to those who had their orders cancelled and are offering all of those affected the 400 page strategy guide for Ni No Kuni which comes with a download code for a gold Hurley Familiar.
