Back in November, we heard rumblings that a console version of Resident Evil: Relvations might be on its way. Today, Capcom officially announced that Resident Evil: Revelations will arrive on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC on May 21st for North America and the 24th for Europe. Prior to previous thoughts that this may be a digital only title, Revelations will be available both at retail and digitally on all platforms. The game will be available digitally for PS3 and PC on May 21st with Xbox and Wii U to follow.
The console version will feature a new enemy, an extra level of difficulty and improvements to Raid Mode including new weapons, skill sets and the option to play as Hunk in addition to other characters from the series. The game will be taking advantage of ResidentEvil.net– the online community that launched with Resident Evil 6 that gives players access to special events as well as opportunities to unlock game content.
We’re excited to see this title coming to consoles but have to wonder if its $49.99 price tag will put off players of the 3DS version from re-buying this title. As for those that haven’t played Revelations, it’s definitely the best Resident Evil game to come out of Capcom in the past year.
