Event: Name Your Server!

WAKFU players unite! We are offering you the unique chance to rename your game server! Like the existing name? No problem! Don't like the name? Let your imagination run wild and suggest a different name altogether in an exceptional and unique server-wide contest! Don't miss this incredible opportunity!

Affect the course of WAKFU history! In this once-in-a-lifetime server-wide contest, YOU will decide the name of the new North American Live Game Server! All you have to do is suggest a fitting name!

All game servers honor the great heroes (and villains) of WAKFU history.

SO… WHO WILL BE YOUR HERO?

Now for the rules:

Participants have to posses an Ankama Account in good standing in order to participate. In your entry, we ask that you provide a minimum of all three elements:

  • A namethe name of a hero. Consisting of one word and void of any special characters, this name will have to be universal enough to fit the North American community (and therefore not be offensive to any particular culture or peoples). Furthermore, it cannot contain more than 15 characters (*Forum rules apply here as well).

  • A storythe biography, or background, for your hero. Deeply connected to the known and existing WAKFU legends, this character must be able to believably fit within the (Ankama) Krosmos.

  • A visual an appearance. What does the hero look like? Show us! For this section, your entry may consist of draft, a drawing, an illustration or even a picture — as long as it's appropriate AND original (must be created for the purpose of this event; no copyright of others' work, please).

Existing WAKFU characters, including Nox as original server representative, are allowed.

What happens if you get an even BETTER idea after you submit your entry? Don't sweat — multiple entries are fully accepted (and encouraged)!

How to submit?

It's so very easy! You may submit your entries directly to our WAKFU North American Community email address: [email protected] with the subject line, “WAKFU Name Your Server Contest 2011”.

(Each submission must be the original work of the entrant, and therefore not copied from any other source; and be created solely by the entrant for the purpose of this contest. Any and all images images are to be uploaded to an image hosting site and not a file hosting site, complying also with their terms of use, nor "attached" to the email itself.)

How much time do you have to submit your entries?

Entries may be submitted until the 7th of December, 2011 at 11.59 pm PST. Not a millisecond later!

What happens then?

Our qualified judges, your honorable WAKFU staff, will choose their five (5) favorites from all the entries submitted. Note that the judges will pay much more attention to carefully executed and original works. Afterwards, these top 5 entries, including the original name, Nox for 6 options in total, will then be made available for voting in a community-wide poll so that you may choose your Hero for North America! You decide everything!

WHAT IS AT STAKE?

Such a prestigious honor to be able to rename the server brings its own rewards, plus:

Grand prize winner

  • Original visual adapted and signed by an Ankama artist.
  • Free WAKFU North American subscription for one (1) month.

The four runner-ups

  • Free WAKFU North American subscription for one (1) month.

Detailed contest rules and regulations may be found below. By submitting your entry for this contest you agree with those terms of use.

OFFICIAL RULES

WAKFU NAME OF YOUR SERVER CONTEST 2011
OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES

IMPORTANT! Please read these rules before entering the WAKFU® NAME YOUR SERVER CONTEST 2011 (the “Contest”). By entering the Contest, you agree to be bound by these Official Contest Rules and represent that you satisfy all of the eligibility requirements.

Contest Description

Name your server! Submit an invented character and provide it with three pieces of crucial information: Name, Background Story, and Visual.

Name

The name of the invented character you submit may be the name of the North American server if it is selected as the Grand Prize Winner. It must be a general and universal one word name and easily pronounceable without any special characters. It has to be the name of a hero.

Background Story

The Background Story has to be an original written story, related to the name of the invented character and deeply connected with the WAKFU Universe.

Visual

All participants must submit a visual piece of art such as: a draft, drawing, illustration or photo reflecting the idea of the visual that will represent the hero of the server. Each submission must be the original work of the entrant, and therefore not copied from any other source; and be created solely by the entrant for the purpose of this contest. Any images shall be uploaded to an image hosting site, not a file hosting site, and must be in compliance with the terms of use of the hosting site.

All entries must be submitted via email. Entries will be judged based on the following criteria, weighed equally: originality, creativity and fidelity. The top five entries selected will be made available in a server wide poll on or about December 9, 2011 on the North America Wakfu Forum. The original name of the server, “Nox” will be added to the players’ choices for the poll. Players may vote for the one they like best from December 9, 2011 to December 13, 2011. Only one vote will be accepted per Ankama account and IP. A total of 10 prizes will be awarded. One (1) Grand Prize Winner (entry with the most votes in the poll), four (4) Runner-ups (the remaining 4 entries in the poll), and five (5) randomly selected winners will be announced on the WAKFU website on or about December 16, 2011.
