Well the news has been rather slow of late.  Based on various reports, the alpha test is proceeding.  We saw Producer Hiromichi Tanaka and Director Nobuaki Komoto discuss the state of affairs earlier in the month.

More recently, there was an article stateside in Game Informer magazine, but there was no new information – rather it functioned almost as a mini-review of the alpha build.  In fact, there has been a lot of debate on the forums over the propriety of such an article at all.

The Electronic Entertainment Expo (that’s E3 to you) starts in a month – so we can expect (right?) Square Enix to release some additional information there.  Recall that is was at the last E3 where SE really debuted FFXIV in the first place and answered some of the first questions about the game.  Square Enix has one of the larger booths – so we’ll all be on the lookout for news from E3 next month.
