FFXI Producer Details Current Battle Adjustment Plans

FINAL FANTASY XI Producer Akihiko Matsui continues his open communication with the games players in today’s post on the official forums which lists in detail, his current ideas for battle adjustments.

Among the changes are adjustments to elemental magic, merited weapon skills, as well as changes to several different pieces of content including Voidwatch, Legion, Salvage and more!

Voidwatch Adjustments

A new thread has been created in the Updates section of the official forums:

[dev1125] Voidwatch Adjustments

  • It will be possible to skip the cutscene that occurs when zoning from Walk of Echoes to Provenance.
  • The acquisition of other rewards will no longer be interrupted when a rare item already in one’s possession is among the spoils obtained from a Riftworn Pyxis after selecting “obtain all.”

Event-related

  • [dev1103] Voidwatch has received the following additions and updates:
    • Voidwatch: Final Chapter added
      Enemy weaknesses will function differently from previous installments of Voidwatch.
      • Triggering weaknesses will lower enemies’ attack and magic attack power.
      • Abilities and spells learned via merit points will not trigger enemy weaknesses.
      • The thief ability Bully may now trigger enemy weaknesses.
      • Sheep Charge is the only familiar ability that will trigger enemy weaknesses.
      • The ranger ability Bounty Shot will not trigger enemy weaknesses.
      • Wyvern breath attacks will not trigger enemy weaknesses.
      • Only a single blood pact for each avatar will trigger enemy weaknesses:
        • Carbuncle: Holy Mist
        • Fenrir: Lunar Bay
        • Ifrit: Fire IV
        • Shiva: Blizzard IV
        • Garuda: Aero IV
        • Titan: Stone IV
        • Leviathan: Water IV
        • Diabolos: Night Terror
      • For automatons, only the weapon skill Armor Shatterer (Sharpshot Frame) will trigger enemy weaknesses.
      • The summoner ability Modus Veritas will not trigger enemy weaknesses.

[dev1051] Voidwatch: Tavnazia Jurisdiction

  • Voidwatch will continue with new operations in Tavnazia.
    • Eligibility
      Adventurers level 75 and above who possess an Adventurer’s Certificate may initiate the mission by talking to the NPC Owain in Tavnazia Safehold.

      *The Chains of Promathia expansion is required to perform operations in this jurisdiction.

  • New atmacite, abyssite and periapts will be added.

[dev1054] Voidwatch: Aht Urhgan Jurisdiction

  • Voidwatch will continue with new operations in Aht Urhgan.
    • Eligibility
      Adventurers level 75 and above who possess an Adventurer’s Certificate may initiate the mission by talking to the NPC Camille in Wajaom Woodlands.

      *The Treasures of Aht Urhgan expansion is required to perform operations in this jurisdiction.

  • New atmacite, abyssite and periapts will be added.

With the advent of this new update, level 99 adventurers can now test their mettle in the dark recesses of the Nyzul Isle Uncharted Regions!

Not only that, but those who venture back into the Walk of Echoes and Voidwatch jurisdictions will notice a host of changes abrew. New Magian trials to upgrade your treasured Relic, Mythic, and Empyrean weapons to level 99 are also available to undertake.
