The UI features moveable windows, and the ability to have multiple windows open at one time. It will take some time for them to complete the new interface, but Producer Hiromichi Tanaka said he hopes that they can launch the new UI alongside the Seekers of Adoulin expansion.

New Zones Suggest Major Content Reveal For VanaFest 2012

New Zones Suggest Expansion Reveal For VanaFest 2012

A few months ago, an update for the Final Fantasy XI Test Server went live which included a new folder for data to be stored. Typically a new folder is added to this directory to accommodate files for a new expansion or add-on. More recently, that folder has been populated by several files. Those files are new zones.

In the images provided by Clarence of Wild Dragon Chase, we can see two brand new cities, a maze type area (dungeon crawling?), two new jungle zones and a few others. For a game that hasn’t seen a large influx of brand new areas in years, these finders are sure to please any FFXI fan. Chances are good that we’ll see and hear more about these news zones and what they’re attached to at VanaFest 2012.

What are your thoughts? Add-on? Downloadable expansion? Post in the forums and let us know what you think!

I have a feeling that when I trade this item to the Runic Gate it’s not going to take me to a place I am familiar with…

It seems that there will be an announcement at VanaFest related to Nyzul Isle Assault. But what could it be? Head over the the official forums and join the discussion!

The “JP Button” Is Real- Costs 500 Yen At VanaFest 2012

The "JP Button" Is Real- Costs 500 Yen

More VanaFest 2012 news comes in today with the reveal of a 500 yen capsule machine with special metal tags showing off artwork that has been used for Final Fantasy XI.  The tags alone would be appealing for any collector, however, Square Enix has sweetened the deal by including a game code with each tag which could be one of… many really, really awesome things.

Black Belt items, Various HQ Voidwatch drops, Chocobo Beret, Nomad Moogle Wand and Mog Bonanza Coupons (Empyrean, Mythic, and Relic Weapons, Empyrean Armor and Empyrean Seals).

These tags will only be available at VanaFest 2012. So for the rest of the world, keep your fingers crossed and hope that there’s a way for other territories to obtain these and hope its a little easier than having to win an art contest.
