FINAL FANTASY III PSP Lands This Tuesday

Announced today on the PlayStation Blog, the PSP version of FINAL FANTASY III will become available for download from PSN this Tuesday, September 25th.

The PSP port is based off the game that was released in 2006 for the Nintendo DS. New features for the PSP version include optimized widescreen graphics, an image gallery, an auto-battle system that doubles the speed of combat as well as an option to use the original soundtrack for the game.

The game is known for being the first title in the franchise to include the Job System and as those that are following news of FINAL FANTASY XIV may know, the Crystal Tower from FFIII will be added into the game when it relaunches as FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. For those of you who haven’t played this game yet, now is a great time to pick it up!

FINAL FANTASY III is also available on Nintendo DS, iOS and Android.

A more detailed version of the Tetsuya Nomura interview has revealed itself, and you can read it (untranslated) over here. Summarized English version here.

Most of the already well known bases are covered, but reportedly the largest revelation here is that they are looking into a serious localized version, if not a plain out downloadable (DLC) version of the game.

While it appears that the game is being delayed, theĀ Famitsu interview reveals that characters can be swapped at save points, and like most games in the Final Fantasy series, expect to see a lot of familiar faces (and monsters!)

For those not in the loop, the game is boasting the presence of 14 lead characters to choose from, and extensive online play over PSN. While rumors claim that the game may be shipping on two UMD’s, the fact that it is also being considered for DLC and overseas release makes it look like we be seeing it live on the other side of the world after all.

Saner has quite the post detailing the game available over at our forums!

The PlayStation Blog has posted a video interview with developers from Naughty Dog discussing the multiplayer aspects of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. The changes to multiplayer include a wide variety of player customization options (which can be unlocked by collecting treasure randomly dropped from your foes) as well as power plays that analyze the score difference between teams and makes adjustments to the game on the fly. One example given is “marked man” which marks a player on a team and awards more points for killing them. Another great addition is splitscreen multiplayer. This is made even better with the ability to use dual PSN logins.

The Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta begins on June 28th for PlayStation Plus subscribers and for those who buy specially marked copies of inFAMOUS 2. Everyone else will get access on July 5th. Uncharted 3 is currently scheduled for release on November 1st of this year.
