We’re proud to announce that FFXIV: A Realm Reborn will be at E3 2013 in Los Angeles on June 11-13! While things are a bit hectic as our E3 preparations are in full swing alongside our Beta Phase 3 planning, the development and operations teams have been working hard to prepare exciting content for E3 attendees. If you’re able to attend, you’ll definitely want to stop by the FFXIV: A Realm Reborn area at the Square Enix booth! Just what will the attendees be playing at the show? While we don’t want to ruin the surprise, we can say we’re planning to let them try out some exciting battle content!

Since E3 is an industry-only event, many people won’t be able to participate — but don’t worry! We’re also prepping a lot of new videos (including an awesome new trailer!), assets and even some… hm, how should we say… “live” streamed entertainment? We’ll have lots of juicy announcements for those of you watching at home, so be sure to mark your calendars!

Three developer blog posts appeared in the past day and a half related to the Niconico Chokaigi 2 event. They are reposted below for your viewing pleasure. A lot of information has come out of the this event.  Most notable? Phase 3 of the beta test is scheduled to begin in early June (phase 2 was up to 580,000 participants), with  ARR being released later in the summer (simultaneously for PC and PS3).  Yoshida also confirmed a level sync system will be implemented, allowing players to participate in lower level FATEs (without having to change equipment, as your current equipment will adjust appropriately).    You can see more nuggets of information coming out of the event over at DualShockers (part 1 , part 2).

For all our players who enjoyed tackling Wildskeeper Reives and Otherworldly Skirmishes, prepare yourselves for the all new battle content, Delve!

Following on from the previous update, a number of battle-related adjustments have been made including: enmity, reives, jobs, weapon skill status bonuses obtained from merit points and more.

Some new images from the ARR beta test were released the other day – and while these have probably all been seen by now… well, we figured we should certainly post them anyway.

Square Enix has (quietly) updated their official site with new images of beastmen and the primals they worship.  According to the overall Lore:

Eorzea is home to myriad unique races. Among them are the tribes of the beastmen, who are responsible for calling down the god-like beings known as primals.  Primals are possessed of terrifying power, and are effectively immortal─they can return from death’s halls no matter how many times they are slain. They are wont to bless their beastman worshippers with spiritual and physical strength, and the city-states deem them a most dire threat.

We are provided with five such primal – beastmen relationships:

Ifrit – The Amalj’aa

Ramuh – The Sylphs

Garuda – The Ixal

Titan – The Kobolds

Leviathan – The Sahagin

Check out the images below, and the official site for some additional lore about the relationships.
