tokyofanfestliveletter2016

The Letter from the Producer LIVE from the Tokyo Fan Fest has just wrapped up! We’ve got info on all of the Patch 3.5 information discussed during the presentation.

Patch 3.50 Release

Part 1 of The Far Edge of Fate will drop on January 17th, with Part 2 following some time in March.

Main Scenario Quests

The threat of the Warriors of Darkness is no more. Unexpected reunions salve the ache of bittersweet farewells. And with their ranks further bolstered by the official induction of Alisaie and Krile, once more do the Scions of the Seventh Dawn set their feet upon fate’s path and their gaze upon distant horizons.

Containment Bay Z1T9

The iconic circular arena with falling platforms returns. Expect to navigate entirely new mechanics in a fight that aims to be more challenging than Sophia and even A12S.

Dun Scaith

This new alliance raidthe third in the Shadow of Mhach story arcwill lead with an airship battle against the Doom Gaze of FFVI fame. The railings are gone before you even begin, but (like Ozma) you will respawn if you fall. From there, the instance deviates from the usual formula a bit, experimenting with new ways to work players into the scenes in real-time.

Updated Content – Exploratory Missions

The system will be entirely revamped; upon the release of 3.5, the old Exploratory Mission content will be closed. The revamped missions will be introduced in Part 2. Any materials that could be obtained from the current missions will become available through other means. The revamped system will separate Hunting and Gathering missions.

You will be able to enter by making a request at House Haillenarte, where the current objectives will be viewable. Aether currents will be unlocked by default upon entry, and once an exploration is finished, the next objective will be displayed. Finishing all objectives will yield a specific reward.

Rewards will include spoils or equipment obtained by having an NPC open a lock-box, whereby items will be placed directly into your inventory. Equipment stats will still be randomly generated. It is still possible for enemies to drop treasure chests, however.

Anomalous Elements are separate from missions and will consist of multiple battle events occurring spontaneously. Once a certain limit has been reached, a special raid will occur in a specific area. Everyone will have to find a way to defeat a large boss. The system is not all that dissimilar from FATEs.

New Costumes & Emotes

A new idol outfit was introduced, modeled by the Singbirds themselves. There was even a new song and dance emote to match, which will be available from the upcoming seasonal event.
