XSEED Bringing Ys VI and Akiba’s Trip to PC This Spring

napishtim

Greetings, all you beautiful readers at GamerEscape! I’ve had a bit of an extended absence, but I’m back, and I bring great news!

XSEED Games announced earlier this morning that it will be bringing Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim and Akiba’s Trip: Undead and Undressed to PC. Akiba’s Trip will be released on Steam, while Ys VI will be available on Steam, GOG, and the Humble Bundle Store.

The Akiba’s Trip release will be based on the PS4 version, including the Visual Editor feature, which allows players to change aspects of the game’s lighting and rendering to create their own visual style for the game. Ys VI, originally released in the West back in 2005 for the PS2, will receive some exclusive updates for its Western PC release. Along with a new translation, the game will include full widescreen support, an ability to warp between checkpoints (which, if you’ve ever played the original release, is a greatly appreciated addition!), and “Catastrophe Mode,” where players can neither buy nor store healing items, and if found, are used immediately upon pickup.

No specific release date has been announced, but XSEED is aiming for the games to be released this Spring.
